Chapter 60. Letting Go
Xerina’s POV
My breath hitched as I choked on the air coughing violently. My heart pounded in my chest as I looked away, unsure of how to answer. The bond with Rasmus was complicated, tangled in emotions I didn’t know how to unravel. I bit my lip, struggling to find the words, but they seemed to escape me.
Finally, I managed to say, “It’s… complicated.” My voice was barely a whisper, but I knew he heard it.
Leon’s gaze lingered on his green eyes shined with evident curiosity. “Complicated, huh?” I swallowed hard. “Sometimes, things only stay complicated because we let them. Have you thought about… letting it go?”
I stiffened, my grip tightening on his jacket. “It’s not that simple,” my tone sharper than I intended. I could feel his eyes on me, studying my reaction. I didn’t know why was he even asking this.
“Maybe it is,” he persisted insistently. “If it’s causing you this much trouble, why hold on? You deserve someone who doesn’t make your life
