His intense gaze made it difficult to think straight, and I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks, making the moment all the more awkward.
Quickly, I pulled myself away from his grasp, smoothing down my dress in a futile attempt to regain some semblance of composure. The feel of his hands on me lingered, and I couldn’t help but notice the way his smirk deepened as he watched me fumble.
