Chapter 93. Find Lila
Xerina’s POV
I reached Chrissy’s door and knocked, first softly, then harder, when there was no response. My fist pounded against the wood, each knock echoing down the hallway.
“Chrissy! Open up!” My voice was frantic, the urgency in it undeniable.
But there was no answer. I could feel the panic rising, threatening to choke me. I knocked again, harder this time, slamming my fists against the door with all the strength I could muster.
“Chrissy! Please, I need to talk to you!”
Still nothing. The silence on the other side of the door only fueled my fear, and I couldn’t stop the torrent of thoughts racing through my mind.
“Damn it, Chrissy!” I shouted, my voice breaking as I pounded on the door one last time. My mind was spinning, the world narrowing to the desperate need to get to her, to find out what was going on.
