Xerina’s POV

“Why would I need a guard?” My tone laced with confusion. “And why Aura? It’s not like I specifically need him.”

Rasmus met my gaze with unwavering calm. “Because I trust him. You need someone who can protect you, someone who can be there when I can’t.”

Aura spoke up then, his voice steady but gentle. “I’m here to keep you safe, Xer. That’s all.”

Since when Rasmus and him started working together? When did that happen? Chrissy looked overly calm as she nodded her head. ‘yes, you need protection, Xerina. After everything and that wolfs bane incident.”
