Chapter 23

I felt a pair of hands on me but I didn't open my eyes, still too tired to care. I finally opened my eyes when I felt like I was being moved. My eyes hurt as they were still hazy with sleep so I kept them half lidded, just so I could get a glimpse of what was going on. I saw that my surroundings seemed to be moving and then I finally realized that I wasn't dreaming, I was actually being moved.

I shot my head up so fast that it ached. I saw that Kayden was the one carrying me. He had me securely wrapped in his arms and he was carrying me to my room, bridal style. My sudden movements must have alerted him of my consciousness.

"Ssh….. Don't say anything, just go back to sleep. You're safe with me." He hushed and whispered to me sweetly and I don't know why but my body just relaxed instantly. I hadn't known him very long but I knew that I could trust him.
