Draco’s POV
“What just happened?” I asked, my voice sharper than I intended as I turned in a slow circle, my eyes scanning the room, the corridor, and finally her crumpled form on the floor. The world felt like it had tilted slightly off its axis, and I hated that sensation—hated not knowing, not being in control.
“I don’t know,” Liam replied, already kneeling beside her. His usual easygoing expression was gone, replaced by genuine concern. “I just saw her falling. She looked dizzy… and then she was down.”
My chest tightened as I moved closer. Blood stained the fabric near her thigh, dark and unmistakable against the pale floor. I crouched immediately, my instincts kicking in before my thoughts could catch up.
