Chapter 71. Suspect

Alaric’s POV

When Amaya told me Delilah was gone, I was furious. I knew right away that Magnus was behind it. He had wanted Delilah for himself, but I had refused to give her up.

I remember him saying he wanted the two girls, but I had ignored him, now it seemed he had taken Delilah. My mind raced with anger and fear for Delilah’s safety.

And I knew I had to act fast to rescue her from Magnus’ clutches.

I was so angry that I burst out of my room and rushed to the throne room. I called out to all the guards, gathering them around me.

“Delilah is gone!” I shouted to the guards. “Search every room, every corner, every inch of the palace and its grounds. Find her for me!” My voice was loud and commanding, and my eyes blazed with urgency.

“I just want her back, and I want her back now!” I added.

The guards nodded and rushed off to search for Delilah, and I was left alone with my thoughts. I paced back and forth, my mind filled with worries
