Alison’s POV
The kitchen buzzed with life as the morning sunlight poured through the large windows, casting golden streaks across the polished countertops. I stood at the island, hands busy kneading dough for biscuits, my shoulders shaking with laughter at Katherine’s relentless teasing.
“You know,” Katherine began, her voice lilting with mischief as she chopped vegetables beside me, “if that mark on your neck gets any darker, I’m going to start planning a nursery.”
I gasped, heat rushing to my face. “Katherine!” I exclaimed, glancing nervously at the kitchen staff, who were doing their best to stifle grins.
“What?” She shrugged, her grin as sly as a fox’s. “I’m just saying, Alison, it’s about time I got some grandpups running around. You’re a Luna now. It’s practically part of your duty.”
I rolled my eyes, though I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. “Trust me, you’ll be the first to know.”
