Chapter 91. Cursed?
Xander’s POV
The air felt like it had been sucked out, leaving behind a tense, suffocating silence. I stood in the kitchen doorway, my gaze shifting from another guard to Alison, who still looked pale and shaken from her episode.
“Alpha, the situation is escalating,” the guard said, his voice urgent.
“Inform them I’ll be there soon,” I ordered firmly, my voice steady despite the growing unease coiling in my gut. As the guard left, I turned to Alison, placing a hand gently on her shoulder. “You’re staying here.”
Her eyes snapped to mine, wide and resolute. “The hell I am.”
“Alison,” I began, my tone low, trying to keep the conversation private despite my mother hovering nearby.
“You just collapsed. You’re not in any state to deal with this. Let me handle it.”
