Scarlett stormed into the classroom, breathing in and out while supporting herself on the door. Her gaze landed on her friends, who were giving her an "Are you okay?" look. As soon as she entered the classroom, she found a seat. Before speaking, she tried to catch her breath.

Cornelia cast Avery a sidelong glance. "Is she okay? Do you think Principal Peggy scolded her?"

Shaking her head, Avery placed a hand on Scarlett's shoulder. Scarlett swiveled her head to the side. "I am fine." She turned her focus back to her desk as she swiftly gathered her notes from the table and threw them into her bag.

"You don't look fine. Why are you even packing your bag? Mrs. Beth will be here in a couple of minutes for the morning lecture." Avery said.

"I have to go home," Scarlett said.

"Home?" Avery gave Cornelia a quick glance before returning to Scarlett. "Did you forget something?"
