My heart seemed to realize just how much it leaned toward Aries when he wasn’t constantly around. I’d gotten so used to his presence that now, even with the pack house loud and alive, it still felt quieter. Knowing exactly where he was and why didn’t make the absence any easier.

The pack had slipped back into its usual rhythm, and Julian wasted no time in throwing me back into training.

“Add more weight to your punches,” he said sharply, his voice calm despite the critique. Sweat dripped down my back as I bounced on my feet, keeping my stance light.

I lunged at Robin with more force this time, my fist barely missing his face as he dodged. His lips curled into a grin as we circled each other, like we’d done this a thousand times.
