Chapter 73. See You Later

Ethan’s POV

The next few days went without incident. I steered clear of Emma and she made it obvious that she had nothing more to say to me. If I were to be honest with myself I am heartbroken every moment that I spend away from her. But I refuse to show it, especially around Ezra.

I am sitting on the floor of Ezra’s bedroom watching him build a house out of blocks.

“That is a pretty cool house,” I say excitedly to Ezra.

“Thanks, Efan,” he says and I cannot help but smile at the way he says my name. Pointing to different areas inside the house Ezra explains to me where the kitchen is and where his bedroom is. “And this is where you and Mommy will sleep,” his voice is filled with so much innocence I don’t have the heart to break it.

A melodious laugh comes from the doorway of his room and I look up to see Emma standing in the door watching us closely. Ezra jumps to his feet and drags her over to the house he has just built and he begins to explain
