Adam’s POV
“Son,” I sigh, looking in my mother’s direction as she speaks, “we are in the middle of a serious business, in case you have not noticed. Can you behave once? Your father just told you something, and you seem to be in your own world miles away from here.”
Oh, well, I have always lived in my own world. The one I created for myself, and they know it. I don’t know what she is fussing about, honestly. It is not like I can fit in their world; neither would they want to live in mine. I am, a son for show, when there is a show such as this one.
I take in a bitter sigh and dip the phone into my pocket. “What did you say, father?” I ask, flatly, because I shouldn’t be here.
He shakes his head with disappointment before speaking, “I said you should go prove your irresistible charm to Ayana, your wife-to-be!”
