Ayana sat quietly besides Lyana’s hospital bed, looking at her sleeping daughter with bandages here and there on her body. Just then, the doctor walked in with Robby, who had not left Ayana’s side, and Ayana sprung to her feet to meet them as she wiped more tears; her eyes had become pools of tears ever since the incident.
“Doc? How bad are the injuries? Are they deep? Any complications? Will she recover soon?” Her entire being trembled as she inquired, her heart racing with worry and self-blame.
The doctor patted her shoulder to calm her down. “Relax, Miss De Mario! The results show that your daughter sustained just minor injuries. There is nothing to worry about. She will just need to stay here for a day or two, and then she will be good to go,” the doctor said in a trustworthy, reassuring voice and smile.
