Chapter 58. Attack

Aurelia’s POV

The abrupt, gut-wrenching realization left my mind reeling in both shock and disbelief.

“How could that be?” I wondered out loud, staggering backward at the sudden discovery.

The man, whose name I had no idea about, took a step forward, and I hurried to take two steps forward in response. My face pale at the thought of what he could do to me, using the mate bond to his advantage.

“Don’t come near me!” I yelled anxiously.

At that moment, a voice sounded from outside the room, “Sir Kane, the woman had orchestrated the escape of the others.”

I stiffened, the name ‘Kane’ was repeated in my brain several times as if registering and keeping the name, but my guard remained raised as her eyed Kane cautiously.

Kane had his well-defined brows furrowed into a tight frown, his emerald-green eyes, eerie and cold, was fixated intently on my figure.

“Leave.” He ordered icily, and the dark shadow at the entrance retreated as if it
