Madison’s POV

Relief washed over me like a tide, and the pain all over my body finally registered, making me grimace.

“Are you okay?” Raymond asked again, his voice trembling slightly.

I forced a smile to assure him, “I am fine, let’s leave this place.”

Knowing that the rogues were still here, I could not relax in the slightest. Raymond seemed to understand, he held my hand to help me up gently.

“Are you sure you can walk?” He asked, eyeing me with a brow raised.

“Yes, I can… Ah!” I had not finished my sentence when he picked me up in a princess carry, a small help escaped from my lips and I stared at Raymond speechlessly.

“I can walk,” I uttered in a firm tone, but he did not say anything this time. His jaw was rigid, and he had his eyes narrowed into slits.
