Raymond’s POV
Madison replied after taking in a deep breath, “It’s fine. There’s nothing wrong.” She replied, but I could tell that she was hiding something from me.
And that thought didn’t sit well with me, at all.
My gaze was redirected to Arthur, who had his jaw rigid for an unknown reason, “What’s happening here? What are the two of you discussing?”
Arthur forced a smile, “It’s nothing. I was just asking her some questions about the cure she made. It’s nothing special.”
Arthur gave Madison a meaningful look before saying, “I shall take my leave.”
Without waiting for my next words, Arthur turned on his heels and in no time, I could no longer see his silhouette.
Madison tugged at my sleeves to have my attention, which she successfully did, “It is really nothing.” She assured me, and I scanned her face, searching for any signs of wound or indignant at being bullied.
