Raymond’s POV
Feeling the suspicious and curious gazes darted towards us, I hurriedly dragged Karla by her wrist and into my chambers.
If rumors were to spread, things won’t go well, and I could never afford to make Madison unhappy.
When we reached my outer chamber, I turned around to see Karla staring at her conjoined hand and I hurriedly withdrew with a frown.
Karla lifted her head to look at me just as I remained rooted to the same spot deep in thoughts, “I have never taken you as my brother, I don’t even want a brother. Why won’t you see that? I want a lover, a man who would cherish my feelings just like I have done. Why won’t you do that?” She cried, a single teardrop falling from her tear-filled eyes.
Then, another, and another, until she was in a crying mess. Choking and gasping for breath, but she refused to avert my gaze. It was as though she were afraid to miss any change in my expression.
