Chapter 70
Drake sighed and ran a hand through his hair, his exhaustion evident. He had dedicated his life to the law, to ensuring justice was served. But sometimes, the weight of that responsibility felt overwhelming.
He glanced at the clock on the wall and realized that the day was drawing to a close. With a heavy heart, he decided to call it a day. He picked up his phone and dialed his personal assistant, Sarah.
“Sarah, I’m heading home for the day,” he said wearily. “Please make sure all the necessary documents are in order for tomorrow’s meeting.”
“Of course, Mr. Drake,” Sarah replied. “Is there anything else you need before you go?”
Drake shook his head, even though she couldn’t see him. “No, thank you, Sarah. I just need a good night’s rest.”
