Chapter 30
Ella POV
I am caught somewhere between anger, sadness, and desperation as I drag Lucian into my bedroom and shut the door behind me. Giving the lock a quick twist, I pull Lucian into my arms. His body is tense under my touch.
“Can you ever forgive me?”
I sob into his chest.
Lucian pulls away and looks at me with his tear-filled blue eyes. “It isn’t your fault, Ella,”
he says but I can tell that he doesn’t fully believe it.
“You don’t have to lie to me,”
I respond. “If he hadn’t been my friend…”
but I am unable to finish my thoughts as another round of tears over come me.
