Chapter 21. I Love My Bully
The loud sirens of the ambulances entered the neighborhood, and soon, two ambulances were parked next to the police cars. I saw several of my neighbors coming outside to investigate what was going on, including the Keelers. A few of the EMTs tended to me in the police car while the others rushed into my house with stretchers. After a few minutes, Austin was brought out on a stretcher. I had not felt anything since I shot Tabitha, but the sight of Austin being on the stretcher and covered in blood made me break down.
“Austin!” I began to sob as I pulled away from the EMTs and ran to his side.
“Hey, love,” he smiled at me, though he appeared to be a little loopy.
“I know you are concerned, but we need to get him to the hospital. The wound might have pierced his intestines, and he may need surgery,” the EMTs told me.
“Please take care of him,” I requested.
