Chapter 9
Mitchell stepped out into the night’s cold air, and she shivered from its impact. She pulled her white wool jacket closer to her body, yet it did nothing to shield her from the biting cold.
She was so angry, one at Stephanie for ratting her out to their father so soon, and two at her father for saying all those things. He said she was a child. Would a child have been able to take down a mafia lord singlehandedly? Of course not.
A honk brought Mitchell out of her ball of rage, and she looked straight ahead only to come face to face with a sleek black limousine. She took in a deep breath, knowing it was George, and put on a smile.
George stepped out of the limo with a smile on his face. He was clad in an onyx suit with an azure button-up top whose two top buttons he had left open. The space revealed his beige chest and two slight humps that were a sign he was the gym type. It made him look hotter than he already was.
