Chapter 11
George Woodstock gazed down as his mother glared at him.
“I can’t believe you! I thought everyone was just making up rumors, but they weren’t! What were you thinking?!”
George stood up from the couch and walked toward his mother with slow, tentative steps. She was synonymous with a ticking bomb at that point, and he didn’t want to trigger her. If he made her explode, she’d destroy him along with herself. And he didn’t want that.
“Mother, it’s not what it seems like.”
Sara turned to her only son with narrowed eyes.
