Chapter 127
Murphy POV
My engine was screaming like the devil himself, and my phone was still warm against my ear from that damn call, and the rage bubbling in my gut was ready to explode. I had taken half my boys chasing shadows on some empty road, only to realize too late it was bullshit and a fucking trick.
The second I stepped off my bike, I knew something was wrong because the smell hit me first, the smell of burnt wood, dust and gunpowder, and my eyes locked on the house. The back wall of the holding room was nothing but rubble with smoke still rising.
I stormed inside.
“Boss…” one of my men stammered, rushing up to me. His face was pale, with his hands were shaking.
“Where the fuck is she?” I shouted with my voice echoing through the busted walls.
He swallowed hard.
“Serena… she’s gone.”
I grabbed him by the throat before the last word even left his mouth, and I slammed him into the wall so hard the plaster cracked.
