Serena POV

“You’ll be fine, Mrs Voss. We are here to protect you.” Theo said soothingly. Or at least that was what he said was his name.

The man was twice as old as Myles but had introduced himself as a friend of Myles. Some strange friends, Myles kept huh? But the man question weighing heavily on my mind even when we drove back home was, who the hell were those people?!

We were not at the Voss family house, and neither were we at my apartment. We were at a two-step bungalow, simple-looking yet expensive. I knew one or two things about architectural design, and due to the designs, I could tell this was quite an expensive house.

The moment had arrived, and Theo had issued orders to the rest of the men to set up a perimeter and to stay ‘frosty’ or whatever the hell that was. Theo in question looked sharp and moved with an agility that preceded his age. There was something about him that made me feel he was in the military or something like that.
