“What are you doing here?!”

I hissed the moment I got to where she sat, grinning like an idiot.

“I need air.” She shrugged. “Decided to come see you at work. I can say you handled that perfectly.”

“What are you doing?” I frowned.

“What?” She shrugged again like a child who was caught in mischief but ready to deny it all.

“You’re getting in my way.” I growled lowly, just loud enough for us to hear. “You’re supposed to be out of my way!”

“I’m not going to live like a prisoner in your house either.” She fired back. “I have the right to go anywhere I want, you know.”

“Anywhere but here!” I hissed.

“Relax...” She waved dismissively. “I just wanted to come see you at work doing what you love doing most. Or is it the other night stuff with the bike…”
