Chapter 6
Now that he was back at work, Gilbert felt awkward. As he and Nelson quietly worked on new projects together, nothing more was said about alphas or omegas, heats, or knotting. Gilbert had many questions to ask, but Nelson had been moody and bad-tempered over a problematic client they were working with. When Gilbert asked about it, he explained they were indecisive, petty about the finances, and had a terrible sense of design.
“It must be hard working face-to-face with these sorts of people,” Gilbert said.
“Yes, it is, rather,” Nelson replied. “We need to get you sitting in on some client meetings soon.”
“I look forward to it,” Gilbert said.
He put aside any thoughts on his fertility, his new gender, and reproductive status as he worked hard with Nelson to prepare drawings and plans for various projects over the next couple of weeks.
