Chapter 42. Father and Daughter
Sushmita’s POV
“Please, tell me that you’re alright,” I said to myself as I continued to comb my hair in front of my vanity mirror.
My room never changed. It was still the same when I last saw it. Except the new curtains and bedsheets that Caroline put. It was gold in color and the silk was so soft.
I don’t know why Daniel is in a hurry to fly to New York but one thing is for sure. Something terrible happened and I don’t know how bad that could be.
I was combing my hair when someone knocked on my door.
“Sushmita, Darling?” The voice is familiar, it’s my father.
“Come in, Dad,” I said and he opened the door of my room.
“My little princess,” he said while flashing his bright smile and I stood and immediately hugged him.
“Daddy, I miss you,” I said as I kissed him on his cheeks.
“I miss you too, sweetheart, is Rodney treating you well?” he asked.
