Chapter 41. There Was No Doubt Now

Rebecca’s story

“Everything okay here, Becca?” Logan’s voice thundered from down the hall. He couldn’t have found a worse time.

Dominic’s eyes instantly reddened, and I could even see his fangs emerge threateningly. If he turned here, Logan didn’t stand a chance.

“It’s all right, Logan. We were just heading for the party. Dominic, are you coming?” I asked tenderly, hoping to calm him down. “Don’t do this here, please,” I whispered, so close, shuddering at how delicious his scent was.

With a discreet but charming caress, he answered me. Then he moved away from me, away from Logan, until he was no longer in my sight.

“What was that all about?”

“You know very well what it was, Logan. Try not to provoke him too much, okay?” What was going on with this agent? Was it just my imagination, or did Dominic already sense that Logan saw me as more than his superior? No, that was out of the equation.
