Wandering through the streets once more, my thoughts were a storm of anger, hurt, and betrayal. How could Nica do this to me? How could she and my father keep such a secret from me? Infact, how could they even get together behind my back? A wave of nausea surged through me as I thought. I kicked a pebble down the road, my mind racing.
“She didn’t even have the decency to tell me herself,” I muttered under my breath, my fists clenching at my sides. “She just ran away like a coward.”
The trees rustled in the gentle breeze, my thoughts spiralled as I walked, my pace quickening with every step.
