Chapter 24. A Familiar Whiff

Issahil's POV

Carlos's expression was calm as usual. He shrugged at my question, and then nodded. “I heard it from my uncle. He is a professor as well but is in the radiography department.”

I turned to Nica who pretty much looked like she was about to burst into tears any moment. Did she like the professor that much? I wondered. 

“But… Who set that stupid rule, anyway?” she asked, hurt embedded in her voice. 

I moved over to her and placed an arm around her shoulder in a bid to comfort her and she leaned in towards me, sniffing.

Carlos spoke again. “But then, the professor must be well aware of this rule so there is perhaps only one reason he was still hitting on you…”

“Don't Carlos,” Freya moved over to nudge Carlos but he went on.

“He is clearly an asshole. I am pretty sure he is only interested in sleeping with you.”

Nica leaned away from me and passed Carlos a deathly glare, and then she stormed away.
