Chapter 53. Distracted

Issahil's POV

[Present]

The dimly lit room was filled with the scent of herbs and the flickering glow of oil lamps. I was standing with the other students by a wooden table cluttered with bowls of herbs, poultices, and crude surgical tools.

"Comfrey," Mrs Allison our instructor began, holding the leaves up for everyone to see. "Also known as knitbone is used for its healing properties, particularly in treating wounds and broken bones.”

She set the comfrey down and picked up a sprig of lavender, its fragrant scent filling the air. "Lavender is a versatile herb. It has calming properties, which makes it useful for treating headaches, anxiety, and insomnia..”

I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I didn’t want to but he somehow kept popping in my head, distracting me. His smile. His eyes. His scent. Everything about him. Most especially,  how he made me feel... How could I still feel this way for him even when I was angry at him?<
