Chapter 105. A Distraught Martha

“How were you able to record that conversation, Pete? Were you tailing me around?” Martha inquired shakily. Her face was pale, her lips trembling, and tears glistened in her eyes.

“Madam, the guy who tried to kill my sister was the same one Catherine hired to kidnap the children. I was trying to find out where he’d taken Zaya. I wasn’t following you around.”

“So how did you get that recording?” She asked again, still emotional.

“I bugged Christian’s house.”

Martha’s brows knitted. “Why would you do that?”

“Because I needed to find Catherine.” Pete looked remorseful. “She was using her husband’s connection to get the guy to do her bidding. I knew that was my only way to find her. I didn’t tell Hailey because she was already stressed about her children, and my sister has trust issues…”
