“Why haven’t you been picking my calls, man?” Jerome’s annoyed voice came from the other end of the line. “Today was the interview, remember?”

His irritation only fueled mine.
My head was still a mess from watching Hailey walk out on me. I’d always known Astra-Z Corporation was huge—one of the best in the country—but stepping inside had stunned me. The salary? Fuck. It was quadruple what I’d expected. If a new employee could earn that much, what were the old staff earning?

I wanted in.
I wanted it all.
I wanted to own it, run it—and the only path there was through Hailey.

Yes, I wanted her back, but this was bigger. I was too ambitious to let the opportunity slip.
