Chapter 26. One Night Stand With Her Husband
I'd never had such strong stuff before and it was really making me lose awareness and control of myself. The most drink of my intoxication was wine, and I easily got intoxicated. Whatever they had given me to sniff and swallow was just foreign to my system. I was feeling no pain, but I was feeling like I'd just gulped six — or maybe eight — bottles of 1945 Pinot Noir.
What little strength I had in me, I had walked like a drunk person to the counter and booked a room, used the elevator and was now occupying the suite.
