Chapter 68. Meeting With Exhusband One
“Where are you?” I asked into the phone.
I was still signing the papers the doctor had handed to me. After they checked and confirmed my signature, they rolled Zaya into the theatre, and I watched until they disappeared behind the sliding doors.
“Waiting for you near the second parking lot,” Christian replied.
“I’ll be there.”
I hung up and walked toward the elevator. My heart was heavy, my steps slow. I needed answers from Christian — answers that would hopefully dissolve the tension between us and clarify all uncertainties.
The moment I stepped outside through the glass doors that led to the hospital’s second parking lot, I found him leaning against his black car.
He stood upright immediately when he saw me approaching. His expression was unreadable, but I felt the tension radiating from him.
