Chapter 31. Their First Meeting

AT THE MYSTERIOUS CAVE

As Xaqion stood before the barrier containing the Octopus Beast, she glanced back at the fallen elf girl with a mocking smile. The girl lay paralyzed, frustration and anger etched across her face.

"Don't take it personally," Xaqion remarked casually, her hand still resting on the barrier. "Getting angry won't change a thing. You're just wasting your energy." She said to the elf expecting for her to calm down.

The elf girl raged, cursing under her breath. Xaqion's smile widened slightly as she noticed the futile resistance of the elf.

She sighed.

"I grow tired of your antics," Xaqion said in a dismissive tone as she  continued. "You've been nothing but a distraction."<
