Chapter 22. Jealousy
"You look beautiful," Dave praised with admiration as he scanned Aurora's appearance from head to toe. Aurora was wearing black skinny jeans and a long-sleeved white t-shirt. Dave preferred Aurora's look with minimal makeup, her brown-blonde hair tied back in a ponytail like this. Aurora looked like a teenager, while Dave seemed more like an older brother or, more accurately, an uncle. "I might really be turning into a pedophile," Dave muttered to himself with a amused smile.
Suddenly, Dave's hearty laughter filled Aurora's minimalist house, leaving both Daveina and Aurora baffled by Dave's strange behavior. It was the first time Aurora had seen Dave laugh so freely, and it somehow elevated his level of handsomeness.
"Dave, I think the house's resident spirit possessed Dave," Daveina said, still staring at Dave in horror.
"Hush, don't say such things, Vin. You'll scare me. I'm alone in this house every day," Aurora replied, shivering with fear.
