Chapter 41
I heard a faint knock on my car window while I was inside. I turned right away to see James, who was looking worriedly toward the side of the automobile. He gave me a troubled look, and I could see in his eyes that something wasn’t right.
“Oh my gosh, James. What is he doing there, and since when has he been standing waiting for me like that?” I asked worriedly.
I opened the car door and stepped out. James approached me quickly, asking with genuine concern what was going on.
“Lilith, what’s wrong with you? Why did you stop at the side of the road like this? Is something bothering you, or do you feel something that should make you stop?” James asked very attentively to me.
I gave him a calm smile, “It’s okay. “Everything is fine. I’m just tired and need time to sleep,” I answered, occasionally massaging my temples.
“You need me to take you home and help you get some rest?” James asked, concerned.
