Chapter 17. Stay Away from Shimma!

Shimma’s POV

I knocked at Mr. Mattias’s door. Waiting to hear his voice.

“Come in,” I heard him say. I opened the door. Slowly making my way into his office.

“You kept me waiting,” he said in a low tone, his eyes fixed on mine.

“I’m sorry, I got caught up with something,” I said.

“Caught up with what, Shimma? you know I hate waiting when it comes to you,” he groaned.

“I got caught up with Lucas, we both just had a brief conversation… If not, I would have been…” I paused because I noticed an unfamiliar expression cross Mr. Mattias’s face. One I had never seen before.

“Lucas? What conversation did you both have?” Mr. Mattias asked, his voice firm.

“Uhmm, he was concerned because he saw you so close to me. I told him you were my dad’s best friend, and being close was normal for both of us,” I mumbled. I became nervous because the more I spoke, the more furious I noticed he seemed. Why would he be angry? I and Lucas clearly have not
