Chapter 17. Stay Away from Shimma!

Shimma’s POV

I knocked on Mr. Mattias’s door, waiting to hear his voice.

“Come in,” I heard him say. I opened the door, slowly making my way into his office.

“You kept me waiting,” he said in a low tone, his eyes fixed on mine.

“I’m sorry. I got caught up with something,” I said.

“Caught up with what, Shimma? You know I hate waiting when it comes to you,” he groaned.

“I got caught up with Lucas. We just had a brief conversation… otherwise, I would have been—” I paused because I noticed an unfamiliar expression cross Mr. Mattias’s face, one I had never seen before.

“Lucas? What conversation did you two have?” Mr. Mattias asked, his voice firm.

“Uhm, he was concerned because he saw you so cl
