Lucas’s POV

“What is it?” Derek asked, folding his arms.

“I need a sum of twenty thousand dollars. Also, I need you to fly me out. I can’t stay here, but I have to find Mattias. I need to know where…”

“No,” Derek said, cutting me off bluntly.

“Please. I will repay you. It’s just… I am helpless right now, and I have no one. Please,” I pleaded, hoping my words would reach him.

How could I sacrifice everything and still not find Shimma? She’s the reason I’m here. If I’m taken back to that prison, I will not see her again. I wouldn’t be able to feel her precious skin against mine or smell the sweetness of her hair. I’d die if I went in there. I’d die without Shimma.
