Lucas’s POV
“No, I can’t do that. Please, I already did everything you asked. You promised me that was all you needed,” Derek said, refusing my request to stay at one of his hotels.
Derek owned a few hotels, and staying in one of them was a good idea. If I had to stay anywhere else, the cops would easily find me because my name, credit card, and ID would be needed.
I couldn’t afford to risk that. Staying in one of Derek’s hotels was my best option.
“If you can’t check me in at one of your hotels, I’ll have to stay here. Besides, I just killed an Uber driver… well, I don’t know if he’s dead. He might have been crushed by other cars passing by, or maybe he survived. I don’t care. But his car, which I stole from him, is parked just a few blocks away from your house.
