Chapter 68. Unexpected
“It’s said that when the life of the world pushes you to the edge… the only path that can calm you down is God. Are you also a wounded human being who decided to ask God for help?” said the voice beside Samuel.
He had come alone to this church when it was empty because he wanted to pray alone, but now people were praying here too. Slowly, Samuel opened his eyes and turned his head towards the seat of the congregation opposite him to find only a young woman who was looking at him curiously.
“You’re wrong… I’m not a wounded man,” Samuel replied coldly then turned away and closed his eyes again to pray.
“Is that so? I thought you were just like me, a human being who was hurt by fate and felt that there was no other way out but to turn to God.”
Samuel could no longer focus on the prayer he wanted to say. In the end, he chose to end the prayer and sat back with his eyes straight ahead.
