Chapter 27
“We need to change things and make a deal. Things can’t continue in the same way anymore.” It’s time. We need to face the facts and sort things out. If we keep going, I can’t see the end result being good. I can’t see it at all, just a life of regrets.
“What deal? Change what, Alena?” He looks at me, confused. He sits next to me, wrapping his arm around my back, pulling me towards him.
“We need to stop. As much as I love that we get all this time without the girls, we need to put them first. So, I think we should limit it to one night a week or every two weeks, and we should be back early the next day.” He nods in agreement.
“If you are sure?”
I am surprised by his question. I assumed he would agree, not question if I am sure or not.
“We always have nighttime, when they are asleep, then we don’t miss so much. I feel like an awful parent that isn’t here enough for them.” I finally admit it out loud. They should come first, no matter what. All these night
