Chapter 24
Liam took his usual position on the roof when he needed to be alone, even though he lived alone at the time. There was something soothing about sitting under the moon and stars. Today was not any different.
He had poured out his heart to her when she had asked about mates. His words had been unrehearsed. So sincere that it ignited an ache in his heart. He wanted to scream it out for all to hear that she was his. But try as he might, he could not hide that he noticed the look of despair that she was trying to hide as he spoke of what a mate meant to him.
And that was why he was out here instead of his bed. This was almost a month after he rescued her, but in those days, he had only slept a hand full. He knew he was joking with nature.
