Chapter 7
Liam watched as she gave in to sleep. He listened till her breathing was no longer labored before tuning in to the conversation happening between the officers outside the curtain. Either they were clueless about supernaturals, or they did not care if one was in the vicinity or not. Either way, they were talking inaudibly for the humans but in a perfect tone for supernaturals to have no use for straining their ears.
“What’s your take on this?” the voice he recognized to be Officer Caroline asked someone he was willing to guess if Officer Jerry would respond.
“It’s too clean a story, and my guts always does not trust too clean a story. But I do know that he is not her assailant, or we have a very bad case of Stockholm’s syndrome. We just have to catch the brother and see where that leads us.
