Chapter 29

Nervousness gnawed on my bones as I tried to find out what to say to the betas. They did not have looks of suspicions though, only ones of curiosity.

“She probably went down there to take some selfies with the prisoners,” The other beta with blonde-curly hair guessed. He had a round baby face and his eyes were the same color as mine: ocean blue. 

From how he looked at me, I could tell that he either really respected me or had a crush on me. 

The beta that spoke first, replied, “Now, why would she be doing that? Are you that dumb?” He had a rough but attractive look. 

The other beta that had not spoken had short hair and looked bored. He scoffed lowly and then joined the conversation. “She’s right here, we can just ask her what she was doing down there.” He shrugged. 

They all looked at me, waiting for me to explain myself. I smiled nervously and then exhaled deeply. “Alright. You guys caught me.” I chuckled lowly. “Your friend was right, bu
