Chapter 80

We all waited for the guard to tell us what he knew. He was sitting on one of the couches and we surrounded him. He had a look on his face, one of nervousness and relief. 

“I knew your parents.” He looked at Julia. “Your mom looked just like you. She was a very bubbly and lovely person.” 

“Okay…” Julia dragged the word. She was waiting for the man to give more information. “Why and how were they killed?”

“Come on, Julia. You know the answers to those questions, and you were reminded of them by Jacob.” Zayn joined the conversation. 

“He knows more than the information available to the public,” Julia spoke for the man. She then stared at him and asked, “Isn’t that true?”

“Yes, she is right.” The guard replied. He had an accent, but mostly everyone here had one. They spoke English but they had distinct pronunciations. 

“First of all, there is limited to no information about what happened to Martha and her husband. No one outside the soci
