Chapter 54

"This is for Calvin," Nico said as he opened the bag and took out a bright blue toy car.  

"Wow!" Calvin immediately cheered, taking the toy eagerly. "Thank you, Daddy!"  

As Calvin was busy playing with his new gift, Nico glanced at Celine who was standing not far from them. However, as he had expected, Celine's gaze was cold and flat. The woman avoided eye contact and immediately turned to the kitchen without a word.  

"Celine," Nico called softly.  

"I'm busy," Celine replied quickly without turning around.  

Nico sighed. He knew this situation wouldn't change overnight, but he wasn't going to give up.

Nico sits on the floor with Calvin who is busy playing. They laughed together as Calvin tried to make his toy cars "jump" from the small table. "Daddy, look, my car can fly!"  

"Great, Calvin!" Nico pretended to be surprised, making Calvin laugh harder. &
