"You have to sit down first. Don't insist on standing," Nico said gently.  

"Don't care!" Celine retorted in a sharp tone. However, this time her tone sounded more defensive than angry.  

Patiently, Nico helped Celine onto the sofa, even though she kept trying to break free. But when Celine tried to stand up again, her body wavered slightly, and Nico again supported her.  

"Celine, don't be stubborn. I just want to help," Nico said firmly, but his voice remained soft.  

"Let go, Nico!" Celine pushed her chest roughly, making Nico take a few steps back.  

"Fine," Nico raised both hands, giving her some distance. "But you have to sit down first. I'll get some ice for your feet."  

"No!" Celine snapped, her face flushed, either from the pain or from the incident earlier. She tried to catch her breath while massaging her own feet.
